    Post-conference field trip


    Deposits of the Vistulian glaciation on the Middle Pomerania

Data: 25-26 June 2010

Sites: Lębork, Biały Bór, Parsęcko, Storkowo, Barwice, Złocieniec

Leaders: Renata Paluszkiewicz, Ryszard Paluszkiewicz, Grzegorz Rachlewicz

Programme: During the field trip, outcrops of glacilacustrine deposits in Lebork and Zlocieniec will be visited. They represent two different types of glacilacustrine environments. The outcrops belong to the most impressive in the region, the thickness of glacilacustrine series reaches 18 m. Next, the proximal glacifluvial deposits will be presented on example of Bialy Bor opan cast mine. Their variations along with various glacial tills will be shown also in Parseck and Barwice. Finally, Geoecological Station of Adam Mickiewicz University placed in Storkowo, nearby Szczecinek will be visited. The station is localised in catchment of upper Parseta River, where wide range of monitoring studies on contemporary morphogenetic processes in recently glaciated area in temperate climatic zone are conducted.

Fee: 400 PLN - it includes accomodation for 24/25 and 25/26 June, meals, transport and entrance fees. Minimum number of participants: 20 persons.
